[EVENT] Munich AI Lectures

It is our great pleasure to announce that Prof. Max Welling will be giving the next lecture of our new series – the Munich AI Lectures.

The Munich AI Lectures are a joint initiative of MCML, CAS, ELLIS Munich, and MDSI to showcase insights and ideas from experts in the field.

On a monthly basis, we invite top-level AI researchers to give us a glimpse into their work and the future of AI. Our lectures consist of a short presentation followed by a Q&A to enable a lively discussion with our speakers. Each lecture lasts about one hour and will be streamed live. Recordings will be available on YouTube afterwards.

We are very happy to welcome Prof. Max Welling as our next speaker. Prof. Dr. Max Welling is a full professor and research chair in machine learning at the University of Amsterdam. He is also a Distinguished Scientist at MSR. He is a fellow at the Canadian Institute for Advanced Research (CIFAR) and the European Lab for Learning and Intelligent Systems (ELLIS) where he serves on the founding board. His previous appointments include VP at Qualcomm Technologies, professor at UC Irvine, postdoc at U. Toronto and UCL under supervision of Prof. Geoffrey Hinton, and postdoc at Caltech under supervision of Prof. Pietro Perona. He finished his PhD in theoretical high energy physics under supervision of Nobel laureate Prof. Gerard ‘t Hooft.

The lecture will take place virtually on October 5, 2022 at 5 pm CEST/UTC+2.
Please save the date. More details will follow soon on our website.
