We are pleased to announce that Prof. Virginia Dignum will give a talk as part of the Munich AI Lectures series, focusing on the ethical and governance dimensions of artificial intelligence.
As AI systems become increasingly embedded in complex social, economic, and technological environments, questions of transparency, accountability, and value alignment are becoming central to their development and deployment. In this lecture, Prof. Dignum will draw on her extensive work in AI policy and multi-agent systems to examine how responsible governance frameworks can support both ethical compliance and sustainable innovation.
Topics will include:
Normative reasoning and value-sensitive AI design
Institutional oversight and regulatory mechanisms for autonomous systems
The role of explainability and coordination in multi-agent environments
Policy strategies for embedding ethics in the AI development lifecycle
Rather than viewing regulation as a limitation, Prof. Dignum will argue for its role as an enabler of trust, differentiation, and long-term technological progress.
