ELLIS Munich Unit Welcomes New Members

The ELLIS Munich Unit is delighted to welcome three new members to its community: Lukas Heinrich, Björn Eskofier, and Leo Schwinn.

Lukas Heinrichis Professor of Data Science in Physics at the Technical University of Munich. His work focuses on simulation-based inference, differentiable and probabilistic programming, machine learning for science, and large-scale statistical modelling.

Björn Eskofier is Chair of AI-Supported Therapy Decisions at LMU Munich and Group Leader for Translational Digital Health at Helmholtz Munich. His work focuses on digital health, data-driven medicine, and the translation of AI-based innovations into clinical and medical applications.

Leo Schwinn is Lecturer at the Technical University of Munich. His research focuses on robust machine learning, data-efficient learning, and robustness vulnerabilities of large language models.

With their expertise across machine learning for science, digital health, data-driven medicine, and AI safety, the new members further strengthen the interdisciplinary profile of the ELLIS Munich Unit. We warmly welcome Lukas, Björn, and Leo and look forward to their contributions to the ELLIS community.
